White Men Can Jump!

is a feature documentary film about the incredible life and journey of Eddie Kidd aka The Black Knight, a forgotten British hero, a legend to many, a sex symbol to thousands of woman, a global daredevil, an inspiration to millions of fans, a devoted father, a man with a heart of gold & double to Hollywood stars including Pierce Brosnan as Bond 007, however, on August 11th 1996, Eddie faced his biggest challenge when he badly crashed at Long Marston in Warwickshire leaving him unconscious and close to death's door. Doctors saved his live but he fell into a coma with no indication owhen or if he would comne around.

The documentary will cover the highs & lows, the stunts, the films, the women, the high life, his friends, his challenges, his awakening from his coma, his perseverance though rehab to recover from the brain damage which left him unable to walk & or talk - with the ultimate goal of walking again in time to take his daughter Candie down the aisle.

Make A Donation to 'The Eddie Kidd Foundation'

The Eddie Kidd Foundation was founded by Nick Sherard friend of Eddie's and Director of 'White Men Can Jump' in 2007. It was set up specifically to 'support the treatment & rehabilitation of Stunt Performers & Extreme Sportsmen & Women' who find themselves in the same and unfortunarte position as Eddie did after his accident. Often the injuries are severe and leave patients with costly medical bills and stressful recovery which effects the whole family and because of the nature of their sport or profession they don't have insurance or can't be insured. These times are pivotol moments in one's life and can cause tragic consequences for all including those close to the injured patient. The NHS can only help so far but all too often patients need that little extra help & sometimes a lot of help. Alternative choices, hope and a true understanding of their ailments is something the foundation will strive to achieve for their members. We will also look at 'stem cell' research and see if it can be used to assist patients. Everything should be looked at in the event of changing someone's life for the good. Eddie hasn't given up and believes he will walk again even though he has been told by doctors that he never will. That will be our motto....'never to give up' following in Eddie's footsteps and make sure that no one feels like they have been put out to pasture. The Foundation will endeavour where possible rebuild their lives and let them know that they will always have friends for life and more importantly provide them with the much needed help.

Special Announcement! 19th March 2009

I can announce today after talking to Jacques Caluwe of the Jacques Caluwe Institute (www.jeecee.com) who had previously treated Eddie in Dubai has accepted and his happy to take on Eddie for new treatment. He only treats patients he strongly feels he can make significant changes. He will be sending me costs for the treatments in the next couple of days with dates available for the rest of the year. He has recomended the Crete Clinic in the summer. Hopefully that will give us enough time to raise the money through donations and fundraising events.
